With its 10 km of length, it ranks among the first places among the longest and most beautiful beaches in Sicily. From Campofelice beach it is possible to witness a quite rare natural spectacle: the green ray. It is an optical phenomenon visible on summer evenings when, at sunset, the sun radiates a green light beam that remains in the sky for a few seconds, long enough to distinguish it from the reddish light on which it stands out. Among others, Jules Verne was also inspired by this phenomenon by naming a novel by him after it.
